This DIY Poop Emoji Slime Looks So Stinkin Real!
Want a silly and unique slime idea?
My kids love making slime and have come up with all kinds of fun concoctions. It’s a fun craft that my 11-year-old daughter enjoys. They think the poop emoji slime is super hilarious, because who doesn’t? 💩
Here is an easy way to make slime look like poo!
The secret to poop-colored slime is cocoa powder!
Yep (and bonus), your slime will smell like chocolate! Remember, just because it smells like chocolate- this slime is NOT edible! I’d save this project for older kids if you think little ones may try to taste it.
Our favorite method to make slime is by using the combination of Elmer’s glue, baking soda, and contact solution. It’s super easy and has worked for us each try. Using the cocoa powder really gives the slime a realistic dark brown color, but you can always use brown food coloring instead if preferred.
For the contact solution, make sure the brand contains boric acid and sodium borate so it’ll work as an activator (I use this Blink brand).
Hip Tip: If you’re finding that the slime is too sticky, try putting lotion or baby oil on your hands, and it won’t stick. Easy fix that actually works!
DIY Poop Emoji Slime
PrintSupplies Needed
- 1 cup (8 oz.) clear Elmer's Glue
- 2 teaspoons cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 tablespoons or more contact solution
- craft googly eyes

In a bowl, use a spoon to mix glue and cocoa powder.

Stir in baking soda.

Stir in contact solution. You’ll notice it start to “acttivate” and become more solid as you stir. Keep stirring for a few minutes, and then manipulate it with your hands. If too sticky, add a little more contact solution. The more you manipulate it though, the more solid it will get.

Form into poop piles and add a couple craft googly eyes just for fun! Remember, this slime smells like chocolate, but is NOT edible.

Just shape slime into a realistic looking swirly, and add a couple of googly eyes for a fun look. I think this would be a great activity if you were hosting a poop emoji party!
Note: Slime can last for weeks stored in a tightly covered container. However, I’d toss if it gets moldy or starts to smell.
